The southern cooking is as classic as the 28-foot building that houses it at Mammy's Cupboard in Mississippi.
The Gaude family built the mammoth mammy in 1940 as a small restaurant to compliment their Shell gas station. The allure was aimed at tourists who came to see the plantation homes of Natchez. Beams from an old cotton gin support the big gals brick skirt.
Today, you can find jams and jellies in a gift shop under her dress. Homemade bread, chicken pot pie and red beans and rice are cooked up in a building adjoining her behind.
If you are still thirsting for more southern comforts, Mammy serves up a mean blueberry lemonade.
