Back to life, back to reality
If you are visiting this Web site, then most likely you already know who I am. For those of you who don't, the following provides a little background.
I am 30-something that spent 18 years working for The Tampa Tampa. It was a highly dramatic environment, which does not at all mirror my more reserved life at home. So, it was time for a change and Met Life came calling.
Road warrior
In my free time, I try to do a lot of traveling, whether it be for the weekend or a whole week. My husband Steve tends to dedicate a great deal of time to hunting down classic roadside attractions, or what some may call tourist traps. The search for such has taken us throughout most of Florida and as far north as Maine.
Lounge lizard
A typical weekend for me usually entails a Friday night happy hour, followed by a Saturday day trip and possibly some night clubbing. Sundays are set aside for the couch, or maybe lounging by the pool.
I prefer the smaller neighborhood watering holes to the chains. I like to frequent places like Tally Ho, TTL Club, Bobalouie's, Starlight Lounge and the like. I have also discovered a couple of tropical-style bars in the hotels around Busch Boulevard that are nice to pop in on every once in a while.
Street wise
I try to take part in what is going on in my community. I have severed several times on the board of directors for Meadowood Condos as treasurer.
One Labor Day, I staged a Luau at the pool and invited everyone from the hood. They all had a great time; eating, drinking, dancing, and of course swimming. Even 83-year-old Klondike and his wife, pictured on the right, jumped to their feet to cut a rug as the Beach Boys and Bob Marley kept the party moving from a portable radio.
Family plots
I was the older of two daughters in my family. We were both very athletic as kids -- playing baseball and showing horses professionally. Today, I mostly putt around miniature golf courses or maybe strike up a game of bowling.
My sister has two sets of twins. The first were set (boy and girl) born on Christmas Day. She inherited three other boys. It is a drama ready for the Jerry Springer Show, complete with trailors.
I, on the other hand, have four cats that are affectionately known as "the children." They know how to feed themselves and can find the sandbox without any help. Two are named Nikki after the Prince song.
Birthday Girl
I was born on July 11th.
There is only until my next Birthday if you want to start planning now. I prefer Burdines to Wal Mart and gold to silver. Here are a few more of my favorite things:
